Overview

This course is specifically designed so that students can complete an investigative study through the analysis of, reflection on and critique of, an area of maintenance management related to their professional practice that was commenced in ENMM29025 Maintenance Management Research Project A. This will ensure that the investigation undertaken is relevant to the needs of industry.

Attendance Requirements

All on-campus students are expected to attend scheduled classes – in some courses, these classes are identified as a mandatory (pass/fail) component and attendance is compulsory. International students, on a student visa, must maintain a full time study load and meet both attendance and academic progress requirements in each study period (satisfactory attendance for International students is defined as maintaining at least an 80% attendance record).

This is a graded course: your overall grade will be calculated from the marks or grades for each assessment task, based on the relative weightings shown in the table above. You must obtain an overall mark for the course of at least 50%, or an overall grade of ‘pass’ in order to pass the course. If any ‘pass/fail’ tasks are shown in the table above they must also be completed successfully (‘pass’ grade). You must also meet any minimum mark requirements specified for a particular assessment task, as detailed in the ‘assessment task’ section (note that in some instances, the minimum mark for a task may be greater than 50%). Through meetings on phone and online material on the moodle Moodle and phone meetings Students are advised in most diploma courses to advance their studies through masters program and answered their queries. Students are advised before starting the program about required efforts for masters course and before they submit their project proposal requirements should be specified.

  2. achieved the aims of the investigative study
  3. applied a suitable research methodology towards the problem being investigated
  4. demonstrated a detailed understanding of the study area and technical proficiency in all aspects of the study
  5. related the investigative study to relevant related literature
  6. identified a solution to the original problem with a proposed implementation plan or, as a minimum, recommendations for improvement in the organisation
  7. documented all aspects of the study in a submitted research report—this will be in the form of an academic dissertation meeting the required standard

The focus of this progress report will be the project progression, outline of progress of solution implementation planning or critique of solution implementation. Another literature review should also be conducted to determine whether there has been new developments in the area and how these may influence the current project..Please refer the attached document on Course website

Course coordinator gives feed back within two weeks following which two industry examiners mark the thesis within 3 weeks. Normally examiners take more time than expected.

Assessment Criteria

Assessment of student performance will be made by two external examiners. The basis of the assessment will be based on Definition including literature review, Theory (Synthesis of fundamental principles, critical evaluation of solution) , application of trans-disciplinary  approach for imlimenting maintenance management principles. and format of the dissertation. Please see more details on the course website.
