Term-Specific Information

This course is taught intensively before EPL 4 Block and EPL 5 Internship. Times will be advertised to BLM Catholic Education Students. Regular student access to email is required for this course. Regular student access to the internet is required for this course.

Assessment Title Practical and Written Assessment
Task Description

This task is to be compiled and completed individually. This task is designed to have you prepare a religion unit for a group of students in a Catholic school.  Your unit could be at least four weeks in duration.

Assessment Due Date Week 8 Monday (27-Aug-2012) 11:45 PM AEST
Return Date to Students Feedback on this assessment response will be provided in sufficient time to allow for academic support and advice as necessary to inform students' responses to the next assessment task.
Weighting 50%
Assessment Criteria

Criteria 1- Declarative Knowledge: Knowing and understanding of religion syllabus & related documents (facts, concepts, pedagogical principles, learning frameworks, terminology) and the demonstrated ability to describe and explain these accurately.

Criteria 2- Procedural Knowledge: Critical assimilation, application and reflection on relevant course & syllabus content, as evidenced in the development, implementation and evaluation of a religion unit.

Criteria 3- Procedural Knowledge: Demonstration of appropriate professional writing conventions (e.g. unit plan structure, logical development of unit focus, spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence construction).

Criteria 4- Procedural Knowledge: Acknowledgement of information sources and resources, using recognised academic conventions.

Assessment Title Practical and Written Assessment
Task Description

This task is to be compiled and completed individually.  This task is designed as part of EPL 4 and/or Internship in a Catholic School.  You are to prepare, celebrate with students and evaluate a religious ritual ( sometimes called a prayer celebration, a non-Eucharistic ritual). The ritual should be appropriate for the group of students with whom you are working.

Return Date to Students Feedback on this final assessment response will be provided following moderation and prior to the Date of Certification of Grades for the Term.

Assessment Criteria

Criteria 3- Procedural Knowledge: Demonstration of appropriate professional writing conventions (e.g. clarity of expression, logical presentation of work, spelling, grammar, punctuation, sentence construction).

Criteria 4- Procedural Knowledge: Acknowledgement of information sources and resources, using recognised academic conventions.
